They not only rank those detectives, they snake draft their favorites. Episode 11: Race, Police, Anger and Empathy

This is a departure for Dad Podz, delving into a serious topic. Though it is not explicit, violence is discussed and may be upsetting to hear, though Dad Podz feels it is important to say. Michael and Shane discuss police brutality, the demonstrations around the world, protests and riots. Shane tackles his own white privilege. Michael talks about the systemic problems that require similarly large changes. They discuss some solutions, give some tips on what people can do to help, but mostly they are angry and sad.
At the end, they discuss some kid friendly media that is well representative of other races and cultures. Representation matters.

Episode 10: It’s a lovely dystopia out there don’t you think?

In this episode, Michael and Shane compare fictional dystopias to our very own hellscape. Which are definitely worse, which are not so bad, and which ones would they totally sacrifice a limb for right about now. They cover Terminator, The Matrix, Blade Runner, Back to the Future 2, and the immortal Demolition Man among countless others. I mean, you could count, but why would you. In this episode, we bring on our 3 children and we find out what a mistake that was. Despite Shane's audio sounding like he is stuck in an airport stall in Buffalo, we have our kids review 10 songs from our past using a best of 5 star system, that evolved in to a best of 100 and higher, and eventually yeah or meh. Join us for discussions of songs from the 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s and 00s, rock, rap, pop, soul and R&B.
